Gangsters Troy Tran - Clay Rouche

Troy TranTroy Tran, 33, and Billy Ly, 32, were charged with one count of conspiring to kill the Bacon brothers in 2008 and 2009. Ly was released on bail in April but Tran's application to be released from custody pending his trial was denied. Tran and Ly grew up in Calgary where they were involved with the Fresh Off the Boat Killers, or FK gang. FK has had a long and close relationship with the UN gang, founded by Clay Rouche in 1997.

Roueche pleaded guilty to smuggling both marijuana and cocaine across the Canada-U.S. border and to laundering huge profits from his international drug operation. He was initially sentenced to 30 years by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik in December 2009, but appealed and won a new sentencing hearing.

Lasnik again sentenced Roueche to three decades behind bars in February 2011, saying that he was more convinced than ever that it was an appropriate term for Roueche as the organizer and leader of “a major drug trafficking organization. The closer I look at the crimes, the more I am convinced that 30 years is the just and appropriate prison term,” Lasnik said.

The U.S. investigation into Roueche resulted in seizures of 2,169 pounds of marijuana, 335 kilograms of cocaine, $2,033,388 US currency, two pounds of crack cocaine, four pounds of methamphetamine, and five firearms. He is also an unindicted co-conspirator in B.C. in a plot to kill Jonathan, Jarrod and Jamie Bacon
