Bail for NH drug mule caught with $ 1.2m of Fentanyl set at $ 2m

Dominican national Robinson Rojas-Rosario, 32, who works at a car wash in Queens, New York, told police he had packages of rat poison, not 15 kilos of fentanyl when he was arrested.

Bail was set at $2 million after his arraignment on a fentanyl trafficking charge. Rojas-Rosario attempted to enter the country illegally through Puerto Rico in 2013 and charges are pending against him. Prosecutors noted if Rojas-Rosario did make bail he would be immediately apprehended by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
At least 369 people have fatally overdosed in New Hampshire this year, according to the state medical examiner. But another 78 cases are still under review, so the actual number could be even higher. State officials projected that a total of at least 476 people died from drug overdoses by the end of 2016.

This is about triple the number of deaths in 2015.
