Edmonton man impersonates police to sexually assault motorist

A contracted City of Edmonton automated enforcement supervisor has been arrested after a man posing as a peace officer pulled over a female driver before she was forcibly confined and sexually assaulted.

50-year-old Paul David Derksen — employed by the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires — is believed to have been wearing his photo radar uniform when the 25-year-old victim pulled over for a vehicle with flashing lights around 1:30 a.m. on June 4th. Derksen is charged with kidnapping and sexual assault. He is currently remanded in custody.
