Vancouverite Joel Benedict Medina busted with 88 pounds of cocaine

Long Beach police seized 88 pounds of cocaine this week and arrested Joel Benedict Medina, 36, on suspicion of possession for sales and transportation of the drug. During a routine traffic stop, police said the driver began acting nervous after his vehicle was pulled over. Officers requested backup and a K-9 was brought in.

Police discovered two large duffel bags inside the vehicle. Both bags contained 35 bricks of cocaine each weighing roughly 2.5 pounds.

Medina remains in custody at Long Beach Jail and his bail has been set at $1 million.
