2 GTA men pull massive large for Sinaloa Cocaine Network

Two southern Ontario men were sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their roles in a massive drug importation network directed by Ontario-based members of the Sinaloa cocaine cartel. Vito Buffone, 53, and Jeffery Kompon, 46, were handed sentences of 22 years and 20 years. They were among 14 arrested in raids in the GTA and Niagara Region on Sept. 22, 2014 by 200 police.
Massive amounts of cocaine was smuggled by truck from the U.S. to the Niagara Region and by ship through the Port of Montreal.
The operation brought at least 2,431 kilos of cocaine into Ontario in 2013 alone, at a time when local prices were roughly $36,000 to $39,500 a kilo.
Mexican nationals Raul Bulhosen and Borja Vilalta-Castellanos were earlier sentenced to prison terms of 18 and 17 years. Police seized $1.2m worth of cocaine, $250,000 worth of marijuana, $430,000 cash, a 9mm Beretta handgun and two shotguns, 13 vehicles including a Ferrari and Porsche worth $500,000, and high value jewelry worth $400,000.
