Senior Toronto Gang Cop busted for cocaine

17 year veteran cop Det.-Const. Kirk Blake was working with the Gun and Gang Task Force when he appeared as a witness in a case at a Scarborough courthouse on Sept. 19, 2016. Afterward, his wallet was found by a fellow officer who opened it to look for identification and discovered cocaine.

Blake pleaded guilty to possession in August and was granted an absolute discharge. He still faces four misconduct-related charges under the Police Services Act. The detective was initially suspended with pay but returned to work in a different role early this year. He will return to face the tribunal on November 21.
