Gotti mobster tries to slag judge to get ’92 conviction overturned; Fails

Frank 'Frankie Loc' Locasio
85-year-old Frank 'Frankie Loc' Locasio’s efforts to undo his 1992 conviction have been dismissed. He cried foul because he never knew the judge's son was a federal prosecutor. But a Manhattan federal appeals court had no sympathy for that argument. The Gambino crime family cratered on the 1992 convictions of the Teflon Don and Locasio, the crime family’s acting underboss.

Locasio ended up getting convicted on racketeering charges, plus other charges like murder, murder conspiracy and obstruction of justice. The effort to short circuit the conviction did not impress Brooklyn federal prosecutors.

John 'Teflon Don' Gotti
“Impugning the integrity of one of the most thoughtful and fair judges of this or any other generation should not be a means to reopen a case that this court has long closed”. In 1990, Locasio and Gotti were arrested on a federal indictment. Hitman Salvatore (Sammy the Bull) Gravano famously became a rat in the case. Gotti was 61 when he died in prison of cancer in 2002.
