 | Stephane Baril of St-Lin was pulled over by Louisiana sheriffs after executing an illegal lane change while travelling east on Interstate 10. His pick-up was carrying Quebec plates.
Sheriffs were in the process of writing up a ticket when they noticed Baril seemed “overly nervous” and “acted in a suspicious manner.” | |
A subsequent search led them to find 219.4 pounds (100 kilograms) of cocaine in 80 bundles hidden in suitcases in the bed of Baril’s truck. Police estimate the drug has a street value of $3 million U.S. The sheriff’s office said that Baril’s vehicle had not previously been under surveillance and had been the subject of a “cold stop.”
