Firecracker bandits use explosive distraction to steal $11,400 Rolex

When police rushed to the Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise, Florida after reports of an active shooter, they instead found the remains of firecrackers and a smoke bomb — and a jewelry store that was missing a $11,400 Rolex. The fireworks were part of a distraction theft. The 'customer' is seen looking in a mirror at the watch on his wrist.

After the thief texts a message, employees suddenly hear bangs from the explosives that were set off a few feet from the shop entrance. They crouch and run to the back of the store. Meanwhile, the thief runs out with the pricey timepiece.
