UK smuggler Schaapveld jailed for Meth, Cocaine

Franciscus Maria Schaapveld was part of a European-wide narcotics conspiracy that resulted in a £6m haul of amphetamine and cocaine. The drugs were to be sold on the streets of Greater Manchester.

The drugs were discovered hidden in the roof of the trailer he was driving after travelling through Holland and Belgium. Schaapveld, 61, has now been jailed for four years and six months after being extradited from New Zealand to stand trial in Manchester.
Police found 160kg of amphetamine and 6kg of cocaine.
