Ohio man pulls 12 years for 9 grams of carfentanil

Convicted drug dealer Manuel Latorre, 27, will spend the next 12 years behind bars after he was sentenced in a federal court for having 9 grams of carfentanil he planned on selling. Latorre was sentenced on one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and one charge of distribution of a controlled substance.

Lotorre has an extensive record with about 50 prior arrests and 17 convictions. “This defendant had a weapon of mass destruction, just in a different form,” prosecutors said. 9 grams of carfentanil would produce something around 4.5 million retail doses.
