16 years for shooting London HA associate

Montreal man Marley Dorphelus has been sentenced for the attempted murder of HA associate Matthew Rodgers. Rodgers, 35, was shot in the leg and head after a scuffle with two men in a parking lot in Oakville on Aug. 4, 2017. Two black men approached Rodgers and one took out a gun and shot him. Rodgers got up and stumbled to Cornwall Road where one of the men shot Rodgers again. Cops chased down and captured Dorphelus. Police found a .45-calibre, semi-automatic handgun on him.
Dorphelus was also carrying a photograph of Rodgers.

The day after the shooting, three Hells Angels went to the Sunset Grill, examined the parking lot and asked staff questions. Dorphelus is Haitian, and he speaks only French. Dorphelus was assaulted in Maplehurst Correctional Complex in Milton and placed in protective custody.
