End of the line for 'Mikey Smash' - Update

A Superior Court judge has dismissed murder and conspiracy charges against a biker accused of stabbing to death Michael Adam Morales in a Bakersfield bar. The judge found insufficient evidence to order Russell Vannoy to stand trial on charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Morales.
60-year-old Russell Vannoy, a member of the Devils Diciples MC was arrested Friday on murder and gang charges in the stabbing death last month of Hells Angels prospect Michael Adam Morales in downtown Bakersfield.

Last fall the former national president of the Devils Diciples was sentenced to life in prison on charges of racketeering and drug trafficking. Jeff Garvin Smith, known as “Fat Dog,” was sentenced after having been convicted of several offenses in a six-month jury trial in 2014-15.
Michael Adam Morales 32 was killed after being stabbed inside one of downtown Bakersfield’s most famous dive bars, Guthrie’s Alley Cat. News of Morales' death spread fast through the local biker community. Morales affiliation with the Hell's Angels MC was prominent on his Facebook page. He had 3 young children.

The bar strictly enforces a 'no colors' policy, but some local bikers have begun to employ "subterfuge," the owner said, by wearing "soft colors" or covering gang colors or emblems only to reveal them later.
"No matter how nice the bikers appear to be, or how much they say they love your joint, stuff like what happened will happen," he said. "It will follow them every time. It's an iron law."
