Son of mobster charged in McDonald's drive-thru hit

Anthony Zottola Sr., 41, was charged along with nine others in the murder of his mob connected father, Sylvester Zottola, in a McDonald's drive-thru in October. The men were also charged in the near-fatal shooting of Anthony's brother and Sylvester's son, Salvatore Zottola, in July. Anthony and Sylvester Zottola are linked to the Bonanno family.

Anthony Zottola allegedly hired Bushawn Shelton, 35, a member of the Bloods, to carry out the murders. Shelton then recruited other gang members. They made several attempts to kill Sylvester and Salvatore Zottola.

If convicted, all of the men face a mandatory punishment of life.Anthony Zottola and Shelton are charged with a murder-for-hire, unlawful use of a firearm, and causing death with a firearm.
