Geas hasn’t disputed his role in the murder. | The top suspect in the killing of Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, Fotios “Freddy” Geas, 55, — a career criminal and prison lifer at Hazelton federal penitentiary — has been charged, along with Paul J DeCologero, 48 and Sean McKinnon, 36. They are charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. “Freddy hated rats,” Geas’ friend said. “Freddy hated guys who abused women. Whitey was a rat who killed women. It’s probably that simple.” | |
Bulger was beaten to death by the inmates, with one of his attackers using a sock with a padlock in it as a weapon. Geas is serving a life sentence for the 2003 assassinations of Adolfo “Big Al” Bruno and associate Gary Westerman.
