America on road to Trump ruin - visceral instincts and daily whims

Trump quickly grew frustrated with advisers, who sought to preserve foreign policy. He replaced those with compliant 'yes-men'. Now that's all that's left. Trump is making policy on the fly, with little or no consultation with his experts. His hasty decision to pull U.S. troops out of Kurdish-held regions in Syria and to green-light an invasion by Turkey is perhaps the most catastrophic foreign-policy move in recent American history. The Syria decision is the new rule.
The willingness of Trump’s cabinet to go along with whatever he says, even when he reverses himself overnight is an amazing thing to behold. Trump has politicized and weaponized American foreign policy for his personal advantage. The greatest winner so far appears to be the Soviets.

To serve Trump is to sacrifice your ethics and character. Many have behaved with honor when confronted with an abuse of power, others have not.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo fired the ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, and instructed his employees to cooperate with Giuliani. Gordon Sondland recommended to Yovanovitch that if she wanted to save her job, she should tweet out her support or praise for Trump.

Trump is becoming more paranoid and distrustful of those who will not do his bidding. Soon that will be everyone. 'Never Trumpers' are “human scum” a charge his press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, amazingly defended. America has never been more diminished.
