Steve Bannon, Brian Kolfage busted for fraud - "We Build The Wall"

Steve Bannon, after posting a $5m bail and being released from jail said he is the victim of a "political hit job." He spewed on his podcast "This was to stop and intimidate people that want to talk about the wall. This is to stop and intimidate people that have president Trump's back on building the wall."

Trump is trying to create distance from his former top adviser. "I think it's a very sad thing for Mr Bannon," Trump said.
Former White House adviser Steve Bannon was arrested on charges that he and three others stole from dum dums in the online fundraising scheme "We Build The Wall".

Trump's former chief strategist, Bannon is the latest in a long list of Trump associates to be indicted or charged. The "We Build The Wall" fundraiser was headed by men who used their close ties to Trump to give legitimacy to the scam.

They raised more than $25 million. Bannon received over $1m personally, using some to pay Brian Kolfage, the founder of the project.
Kolfage repeatedly lied to suckers saying he wasn't being paid.Brian Kolfage is a triple amputee. He was injured in Balad, Iraq, on September 11, 2004, when a 107mm rocket landed 3 feet away. Bannon paid Kolfage $100k up front with an additional $20k monthly. The more than $350k was spent on a luxury SUV, jewelry, home renovations, and credit card debt.
Charges included conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
In July 2019 'We Build The Wall' hosted a three-day political event at its half mile fence, which featured a political speech by Donald Trump Jr.

“What you guys are doing is pretty amazing,” Trump Jr. said with Kolfage next to him in his wheelchair, adding that the fundraising group showed “what capitalism is all about.”
