On March 9, Brazil’s Supreme Court approved Rocco Morabito's extradition to Italy. It comes ten months after his arrest in northern Brazil in May 2021, following a joint manhunt by Brazilian, Uruguayan and Italian cops.

Rocco Morabito is considered a top leader of the Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta, Italy’s powerful organized crime group and one of Europe’s biggest importers of cocaine. Morabito has often rubbed shoulders with Sicilian boss Matteo Messina Denaro. |  |
