'Dick Pic' helps crack $30m celebrity jewel heist

It began with an Instagram post. Just before Christmas in 2019, Tamara Ecclestone, model heiress daughter of ex-Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, announced that she and her family were jetting off to Lapland for the holidays in front of a private jet. On the night they left, thieves broke into the family’s home located on a street referred to as 'billionaire’s row.' The thieves swiped around $30m in cash, watches and diamond jewelery. CCTV images showed the group getting into one of London’s black cabs. Detectives set about contacting the 1,006 taxi drivers who’d worked in the area on the night of the robbery. Investigation led to a budget hotel. Staff remembered the group well, one of the group had sent her colleague a string of lewd messages and a picture of his dick.
Staff at the hotel even saved the man’s number as “Weirdo.” That was Italian Jugoslav Jovanovic, 23. Jovanovic was arrested in Italy in October 2020 before being extradited to Britain in April last year. His associates Alessandro Maltese and Alessandro Donati were also arrested in Italy and extradited to the U.K. They are all serving jail terms.

Mastermind of the theft, Alfredo Lindley, 40, is living in Serbia. Serbian authorities have refused all extradition requests.
