Dawn Ellis-Abbott accused of stealing $4m

The investigation began in December 2019 when Millbrook RCMP was told by the chief and council of the Millbrook First Nation about a possible fraud of $1m committed by a former employee. Dawn Ellis-Abbott, 42, of Bible Hill, N.S. was arrested in connection with the investigation March 17, 2023. She was released on conditions. RCMP say she stole more than $4m over four years between January 2016 and December 2019 from the Millbrook First Nation.
