 | Its said Francesco Del Balso, 53, had a $250k contract on his head when much of his face was blown off by a sniper's bullet. He tried to flee the country but was stopped at Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport. His passport was confiscated, and he returned home knowing he was wanted dead. Twice before in recent months hitmen had tried to kill him. He went to a fitness club in Dorval, on the West Island of Montreal, reportedly for a meeting with a member of the Hells Angels. His fate was waiting for him. The sniper, an apparent marksman, made no mistake. Del Balso never knew what hit him and probably died before he hit the ground. He lay cooling for hours as police investigated. |  |
 | Many suppose Francesco 'Chit' Del Balso was behind the attempted hit on Leonardo Rizzuto March 15. The cop thesis is Del Balso, a specialist in extortion and sports betting, sought retaliation on Rizzuto for a shooting from which he escaped in Laval in November 2022. Del Balso had a well earned reputation for being impulsive and hot-tempered. Del Balso threw his lot in with top levels of HAMC leadership to fuel his ambitions.  |

 | The entourage of Hells Angels include Martin Robert, Stéphane Plouffe and Michel Lamontagne.
Martin Robert and Stéphane Plouffe were among the bikers who were "associated" with the Rizzuto clan in 2021.

 | Francesco 'Chit' Del Balso, a key figure in the Montreal Mafia, was killed on the West Island early this afternoon. Sources confirmed Del Balso was killed near the Monster Gym located between the service road of Highway 40 and St-Régis Blvd. in Dorval. “It was inevitable,” one said. Two attempts were made on Del Balso’s life in recent months and he was suspected in the attempt to kill Leonardo Rizzuto. Nobody who follows the Montreal Mafia is the least bit surprised at Del Balso's fate. It was a long time arriving. |  |
