Gain of Function

Evidence of Chinese Covid-19 coverup

A Canadian study says the Delta variant is 133% more deadly than the original COVID strain.
The coronavirus may have been spreading through Wuhan much earlier than Chinese authorities say. There was a large increase in the number of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) contracts in and around Wuhan in the second half of 2019. PCR tests are the standard for COVID-19 virus testing. The spike suggests the Chinese narrative is false, and the virus was spreading as early as May 2019, not December. There were around 50 contracts for PCR tests in 2015 and 2016. In 2019, that number was 135. Monthly data says something changed dramatically by May.
Gain of Function Experiments
The Chinese call questions "politicized misinformation." Did the COVID-19 pandemic start with a Chinese lab leak? Research referred to as “gain of function" is common at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and it was performed on pathogen bat viruses at a lab security level on par with a dentist's office. Adament Chinese denials that a leak occured are falling flat when investigations are not being allowed by the regime.
Experimenting with pathogens to force them to mutate to become more lethal or transmissible to humans is an ethical issue. Nobody can possibly say if the benefits outweigh the risks. Safety lapses involving avian flu, smallpox, and anthrax point out that leaks are not uncommon. In 2014 the U.S. put a moratorium on funding gain-of-function research involving influenza, MERS, and SARS. The moratorium was lifted in 2017.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology has long been tied to the Chinese military. China’s unwillingness to release information has heightened suspicions that COVID-19 was engineered as a bio-weapon, and started a global pandemic with a leak from the Wuhan lab.

Wuhan Horseshoe Bats linked to COVID
In 2010 American virologist Ralph Baric approached Zhengli Shi. Baric is an expert in coronaviruses and Shi, at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, had been finding them in bat caves.

Chinese work was carried out at biosafety level 2 (BSL-2), a far lower tier than Baric’s BSL-3+.
Baric developed a way to bring a virus to life from its genetic code, and he could mix and match parts of multiple viruses. He wanted to take the “spike” gene and move it into a genetic copy of the SARS virus. The spike molecule lets a coronavirus open a cell and get inside. The resulting chimera would attach to human cells. The chimera (a chimera genome contains genetic material from two strains of virus.) exhibited “robust replication” in humans.

If it had been transmitted like SARS-CoV-2, “we would have had a pandemic with a 10% mortality rate,” Baric said.
Chinese work created enhanced SARS-like viruses, whose risk to humans was unknown. In 2002–03 SARS broke out in China, infecting 8,000. That disease didn’t spread from one person to another until after severe symptoms began to appear, making it easier to corral. 774 people died.

Zhengli Shi the 'Bat Lady'
People should not be looking at bat viruses in BSL-2 labs. Zhengli Shi said she followed Chinese rules. Since the pandemic began, Baric said little about the origins of the virus. In May 2020 he said “speculation about accidental laboratory escape will likely persist, given the large collections of bat virome samples stored in labs in the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the facility’s proximity to the early outbreak, and the operating procedures at the facility.”
SARS-CoV-2's closest known relative at 96% is RATG13, which came from a horseshoe bat.
Ebola cannot spread except through body fluids. If Chinese gain of function experiments change that the world is a far more dangerous place.
Delta variant
The Delta variant is the fastest, fittest and most formidable version of the coronavirus in the world. As restrictions loosen, the table could be being set for serious trouble. Evidence is mounting that the Delta variant, first identified in India, is capable of infecting fully vaccinated people, and at rates not seen before.
Of 3,692 people hospitalized in the UK with the Delta variant, 58.3% were unvaccinated and 22.8% were fully vaccinated. In the United States, the Delta variant represents about 83% of new infections. Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine was 39% effective in keeping people from getting infected by the delta variant. The Delta variant is not more dangerous, but is far more contagious.
Ebola Gain of Function no joke
The Chinese have dismissed reports that three researchers had fallen sick with coronavirus-like symptoms shortly before the first cases emerged in Wuhan. They also dismiss questions over China’s lack of transparency with data and refusal for a "lab audit".China has rejected a request from the World Health Organization (WHO) that they return to sites in China to investigate the origins of COVID-19. Experts made their first visit to Wuhan in mid-January, more than a year after the first cases.
Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe, often fatal illness. The average EVD fatality rate is 50%. Fatality rates have varied from 25% to 90% in past outbreaks. The 2014–2016 outbreak in West Africa was the largest Ebola outbreak since the virus was discovered in 1976. Fruit bats are the host.
'Gain of Function' experiments force viruses to mutate to become more deadly. Extreme Chinese interest in GOF with one of the deadliest viruses on earth ought to be ringing alarm bells. Who are making the ethical decisions for humanity on bioweapons, the PLA? If so the next pandemic might be an Ebola variant which would make COVID look like a pussycat.

People remain infectious as long as their blood contains the Ebola virus.
Secrecy over fired scientists from Canada's level 4 lab
Xiangguo Qiu travelled to China extensively to help set up the Level-4 lab in Wuhan. It is said she passed materials such as plasma DNA molecules, which could be used to recreate vaccines or viruses, to the Chinese without approval. When Qiu was escorted out of the Canadian lab in July 2019, all of her Chinese students left with her. Xiangguo Qiu and Keding Cheng have relocated to China.

Documents reveal a shipment of Ebola and Henipah viruses in March 2019 to the Wuhan Institute of Virology from the National Microbiology Lab.
Feds are asking the Federal Court to prohibit disclosure of documents related to the firing of two scientists at Canada's level 4 lab. The documents may reveal why the couple were booted from Winnipeg's National Microbiology Laboratory in July 2019 and fired. Four months previous Qiu played a key role in shipping Ebola and Henipah to China.
Chinese officials revealed COVID on Jan. 7, 2020. Conspiracy theories link COVID, Canada's lab, and the lab in Wuhan. Qiu had dealings with Chinese scientists, including repeated trips to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.National Microbiology Lab

Qiu worked with Chinese government scientists on inventions registered in Beijing and is listed on two patents filed in China. The federal Public Servants Inventions Act says the federal government owns all inventions.
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs was asked if Qiu and Cheng were involved in espionage on behalf of the Chinese government.
Xiangguo Qiu was born in Tianjin. Qiu received her MD degree from Hebei Medical University in 1985 and came to Canada for graduate studies in 1996.
The list includes two vials each of 15 strains of virus:
Ebola Makona (3 varieties)
Ivory Coast.
Sudan Boniface.
Sudan Gulu.
Nipah Malaysia.
Nipah Bangladesh.
Gain of function experiments are when a natural pathogen is taken into the lab, made to mutate, and then assessed to see if it has become more deadly or infectious. These types of experiments are not done in Canada. Gain of function experiments are done at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
One of the students brought to Canada by Qiu was Feihu Yan, from the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) Academy of Military Medical Sciences.
In early 2020 Chen Wei, a PLA major general, told Chinese state media that her team worked in Wuhan developing a "core technology that can be used against the COVID-19".
CSIS is said to have urged the removal of the two scientists and their entourage.

Chinese list 4 things US needs to do to prove 'sincerity' on COVID-19 origin
Zhao Lijian, spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said the US has politicized the pandemic, stigmatized the virus, and turned COVID-19 origins tracing into a tool. It has taken to lying, discrediting and coercion as its means while showing no respect to science and justice. The ugly page of the US behavior will surely be recorded in the annals of the global fight against COVID-19, Zhao Lijian says.
The US needs to publish its data on early COVID-19 cases, invite the WHO to probe Fort Detrick in Wisconsin and the University of North Carolina, and publish data on sick soldiers who attended the Wuhan Military World Games says the regime mouthpiece.

US and allies accuse Chinese government of hacking
The Chinese government was the mastermind behind a series of malicious ransomware, data theft and cyber-espionage attacks. The sprawling Microsoft Exchange hack earlier this year was the work of Chinese state sponsored hackers. Their activities were linked to the hacker groups Advanced Persistent Threat 40 and Advanced Persistent Threat 31. The group of nations attributing the attack to China includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan and NATO.
The U.S. charged four Chinese with the Ministry of State Security with a campaign to hack into computer systems of dozens of companies, universities and government entities in the U.S. and abroad between 2011 and 2018. The indictment alleges the hackers targeted, among other things, Ebola vaccine research.
China condemns “groundless accusations,” saying that tracing the source of cyberattacks is a “highly sensitive political issue.” China has long insisted that it is not a perpetrator but a victim of cyberattacks.
