Career U.K. lag John Haase pulls 9 years for arson

Liverpool career criminal John Haase committed arson while paroled from prison. He became a debt collector and torched a $70k Range Rover when his target refused to pay. Haase, 74, was caged to serve out the remainder of his 22-year sentence, with 9 more for the arson.
In 2008, Haase was busted for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. He received a Royal Pardon through fraud. Haase and his nephew told cops about 150 guns supposedly hidden around the UK to secure a reduction in their jail terms. The Home Secretary signed off on the deal, resulting in the early release of the duo who had served 11 months of their 18-year sentences for heroin trafficking.
The judge wasted little on Haase ... "It is as plain as plain could be that you are a dangerous criminal. "When you asserted to me you are not, that can only be described as arrant nonsense." Haase will remain behind bars until June 2030.
