![]() | Joland Giwa, 30, arrived in the UK when he was aged 10, and grew up terrorizing the streets of Croydon, south London. He was jailed for 27 months in February 2009 for a string of robberies and thefts. Attempts to deport him to Africa – Giwa is thought to be from either Nigeria or Sierra Leone – were frustrated because no country would take him. He was jailed for seven years in 2015 for a violent robbery. He was released from prison on June 2019. Giwa has again been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after he admitted possessing heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to supply. Giwa was caught with drugs with a street value of £4,700, £1,300 in cash and three mobile phones. | ![]() |
