Ecuador's Los Choneros leader Adolfo Macías reeled in

Cops in Ecuador have recaptured the country's most wanted fugitive, drug lord Adolfo Macías Villamar. He was tracked down to an underground bunker below a luxury home in the city of Manta. The bunker was fitted out with air conditioning, a bed, a fan and a fridge. Villamar was transferred to the La Roca maximum-security prison. Fito escaped from La Regional prison in Guayaquil in January 2024 with the help of at least two guards.

Moll Veronica Briones Zambrano posted selfies and videos on social media despite the manhunt for fugitive boyfriend Jose Adolfo Matias, better known as Fito.

Zambrano was fingered as Fito’s girlfriend in Oct 2021 after she spent a week boinking him in his jail cell.

She was intercepted as she tried to leave the prison in the middle of a riot wearing a guard’s uniform.

Jose Adolfo Macias, the leader of Los Choneros, vanished from the jail where he was being held. Ecuador declared a state of emergency amid riots at prisons across the country. A massive manhunt was mounted.

Jose Adolfo Macias is linked to the murder of Fernando Villavicencio, 59, a candidate for president.
