 | Sean McGovern, 39, one of the most senior figures of the Kinahan crime group, has been arrested following his extradition from the UAE. He was Daniel Kinahan's right-hand man. McGovern is the first thug to be extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Ireland. He had been in custody in Dubai since October, when he was detained on an Interpol red notice. Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said an extradition treaty between Ireland and the UAE became operational earlier this month. That means serious trouble for the Kinahans. Garda Síochána said it was a significant development in international law enforcement. The UAE has become a base for many Irish criminals, and gangsters world-wide. |   |
