RCMP investigating AHS for fraud, breach of trust and money laundering

Mounties looking into a Alberta's 'Corrupt Care' health-care spending scandal are investigating potential fraud, breach of trust and money laundering. The information is contained in court documents filed this month as part of a wrongful dismissal lawsuit filed by Athana Mentzelopoulos, the former head of Alberta Health Services. In a letter sent Oct. 15, Ontario Crown prosecutor Tom Andreopoulos writes that the ongoing RCMP investigation is looking into fraud, breach of trust and money laundering related to contracting at Alberta Health, the government ministry, and Alberta Health Services.
Key K9 is Danielle Smith's former Chief of Staff Marshall Smith. Together with Jitendra Prasad and Blayne Iskiw – both of whom then worked as senior procurement officials at Alberta Health Services, the trio robbed taxpayers blind.
This spring, RCMP carried out multiple search warrants amid the investigation. Cops were seen outside the Edmonton offices of MHCare Medical Corp., the medical supply company of Sam Mraiche and at the homes of Prasad and Iskiw.
