Environmental authorities in Michoacán, Mexico, confirmed the presence of the weevil in export shipments. Producers in Michoacán, Jalisco, Colima, and Nayarit destroyed up to 52 tons of avocados, dumping and burning them in pits under the supervision of Mexico's health agency.
