Drunk Beaufort County cop William ‘Billy’ Squires

Beaufort County confirmed William ‘Billy’ Squires was terminated on October 3, 2025. He was fired for a “host of policy violations”, one of which was insubordination for refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

The off-duty Beaufort County sheriff’s cop who pulled a gun on three teens and threatened to shoot them in the middle of a neighborhood street is Master Sgt. William ‘Billy’ Squires, a 19-year-veteran of the department.

The incident occured in the Squiresgate neighborhood where the nutcase cop lived. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s office announced that he was suspended without pay and relieved of his “credentials, badge, department issued weapons”

An 84-second video depicting Squires brandishing his weapon on the youths multiple times has gone viral.

A group of boys were walking in the neighborhood late in the afternoon on Sept. 28 when Squires rode next to them on a green all-terrain vehicle. After a verbal exchange Squires returned wearing a sheriff’s office tactical vest with his handgun drawn. “Get on the ground,” he yelled repeatedly, along with “Come here.” The boys screamed for someone nearby to call the police. “I am the police,” the drunk Squires responded.
