Ezhil Natarajan – Allison Jones Consulting

Ezhil Natarajan, who owns an Etobicoke-based Canadian Tire store, was fined $111k by the feds for violating the Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) program. (Ezhil.Natarajan@cantire.com) Ezhil Natarajan’s Canadian Tire was approved to hire 34 TFWs from 2022-2024.

The TFW violations are reported on a public database that lists employer’s lack of compliance. It lists Natarajan’s company, Geethaezhil Inc., as “ineligible” for the program due to the unpaid fine. At least 13 employees resigned or were terminated in late 2023, alleging wage reductions, job duty changes, and threats of dismissal when they voiced concerns about working conditions. Two TFWs spoke out to CBC News alleging mistreatment, poor working conditions and being paid less than agreed-upon wages by Natarajan. Natarajan has owned and managed various Canadian Tire stores through his company GeethaEzhil Inc. since 2012. Natarajan has denied all through his Canadian Tire Dealers’ Association lawyer, Arthur Tarasuk. (ctdaoffice@ctdealers.com)

One TFW paid $7,900 US to Alberta-based recruitment agency Allison Jones Consulting to get the job with Natarajan at Canadian Tire.

In June, Allison Jones Consulting and AJ Immigration Group were fined $165k in eight cases for illegally charging workers for job placements. Allison Jones said she is appealing. (allison@ajccanada.com)
