8 Punjabi busted for stealing mail – again

Peel cops, in collaboration with Halton Regional Police, have recovered more than 450 pieces of stolen mail, totalling more than $400k.

In April 2025, Peel and Halton Police launched a joint investigation with Canada Post involving a series of mail thefts occurring throughout the Region of Peel. The investigation uncovered a group of individuals working together to target residential mailboxes. Eight Punjabi men now face 344 charges. Charged are: Sumanpreet Singh, 28, of Mississauga, Gurdeep Chattha, 29, of Mississauga, Jashandeep Jattana, 23, of Mississauga, Harman Singh, 28, of Brampton, Jasanpreet Singh, 21, of Brampton, Manroop Singh, 23, of Brampton, Rajbir Singh, 26, of no fixed address, and Upinderjit Singh, 28, of no fixed address.

The haul included 255 cheques, 182 credit cards, 35 government ids and 20 gift cards.

In 2021 cops busted 16 with over 140 charges of mail theft. Busted then were; Taranjeet Virk, Hartinder Randhawa, Gurdeep Bains, Harmeet Khakh, Gurdip Singh, Harjinder Singh, Gurkamal Mehmi, Gurvinder Kang, Gurpreet Singh, Suhail Kumar, Rattan Preetam, Rupinder Sharma, Varinderpal Kooner, Harman Singh, Kuldeep Sandhara, all from Brampton, and Joga Singh, Toronto.
