Largest fentanyl seizure in Newfoundland and Labrador

It looked like a regular camping trailer, parked in a wooded area on the outskirts of town, fairy lights strung between it and the trees. Inside were drugs in various stages of preparation, gas storage tanks, respirator masks, colour dyes, and packaging.
Busted in September 2024, cops landed 950 grams of cocaine; 300 grams of meth; prescription pills, and more than 500 grams of fentanyl — doses to potentially kill 250,000, or half the population of Newfoundland and Labrador. Other analogues were found, including carfentanil.
Xylazine, dubbed 'Benzo-dope' was discovered. Xylazine is often mixed with fentanyl. The operation cut and repackaged dope for street sale. Cops say the fentanyl and carfentanil was brought into the province. Also seized was more than $50,000 in cash and weapons. Three were arrested: Emma Murphy, 24, Martin Marks, 29, and Chris Somerton, 27. Murphy and Marks face a combined 85 charges.
