Yaba

Yaba (Thai: ยาบ้า, Lao: ຢາບ້າ, literally 'mad drug' or 'crazy pill'), are tablets containing a mixture of methamphetamine (25-35mg) and caffeine (45-65mg). The use of this drug combination is widespread, particularly in South and Southeast Asia.
In the Philippines and Indonesia it is shabú. In China it is ma-goo or ma-guo. Yaba tablets are typically consumed orally, but can be smoked or injected.  Increase in the use of methamphetamine, globally, has outpaced that of any other drug.
Yaba is cheap due to it's excess supply and extremely addictive. Within a few days of consistent use, an individual can become hooked. Rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure and damage to blood vessels in the brain (which can cause a stroke) are synonymous with yaba use. Yaba abuse and addiction cause serious mental issues. A person often displays extreme paranoia and confusion. Anxiety, aggression and violence are common. Yaba withdrawal is extremely unpleasant and lasts for several days.

Mexican Mafia moll staying in jail

A 6 1/2-year prison sentence for the one-time girlfriend of former Orange County Mexican Mafia chief Peter Ojeda will stand. Suzie Rodriguez, 57, was convicted along with Ojeda of racketeering and criminal conspiracy to commit murder and assault with serious bodily injury.

Prosecutors described Rodriguez as Ojeda’s “eyes and ears” in Orange County. Ojeda pulled 15 years and died in prison.
Ojeda was embroiled in a struggle for control of Orange County with Armando Moreno, a former ally turned rival. The battle led to a wave of violence in Orange County jails. Ojeda ultimately won after gaining the support of high-ranking Mexican Mafia members from Los Angeles.

Letters in support of Rodriguez described her as a community volunteer with a “big heart.”

Video shows ‘filth’ of corrupt politics - Mexican President

Mexico’s president revealed a recent online video, which shows public officials sifting through large piles of cash. The men are Rafael Caraveo Opengo, former technical secretary of the Senate Administration Committee, and Guillermo Gutiérrez Badillo, private secretary to the governor of Queretaro. The President speculated the money was just one installment of bribery payments from the former director of state oil company Pemex, Emilio Lozoya. Lozoya was extradited from Spain to face charges for his role in the massive kickback scheme orchestrated between officials at Pemex and their counterparts at Brazilian construction giant Odebrecht.

USS Pinckney lands 120kg cocaine

The guided missile destroyer USS Pinckney intercepted a small boat about 200 nm to the southwest of Jamaica and seized 120kg of cocaine on July 24.

In a shift from years past, research indicates that most of the cocaine headed north from Colombia is ultimately bound for Europe and other overseas markets, where prices are higher than in the United States.

Container ports like Kingston serve as transshipment hubs for these cargoes.
The majority of the northbound trafficking across the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific may be aimed primarily at moving cocaine closer to these seaports - not to the U.S. border.
