'Mob Boss' bank heist foiled

A Clairton man found himself in jail after telling bank employees he was a mob boss and directing them to put money on his bank card. Daniel Bizzelle Jr., 31, of Clairton, is charged with robbery, possession and public drunkenness. Bizzelle allegedly told bank employees he was a mob boss and and he wanted $50k placed on his bank card. He said he would take $10k if they couldn’t give him the full amount, then said, “This is a stick up,” and “No need to get police involved,” according to the complaint.

Karachi’s water mafia

Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan and 12th largest in the world, with a population of over 20m. The city has enormous water needs. It's core population is growly rapidly, with an industrial hub with over 10,000 factories. Up to 80% of the city’s water is pumped through a leaky 10,000km network of ancient pipelines at low prices. The other 20% rely on private tankers charging much more.

As the state-run water supply increasingly fails, the water mafia steps in to profit. And where do they get their water? Illegal water hydrants are built to siphon off the water from the main supply. Over 10 million gallons per day is stolen from the system. That system has not seen any upgrades for over 25 years because there is no revenue. The issue has become political as control over water from the city’s rapidly depleting freshwater sources has become one of the most lucrative industries in the mega-city. In Karachi, those politicians with close ties to the water mafia have the most power, and are emblematic of state corruption.

China meddling in Canadian democracy - update II

Liberal MP Han Dong has resigned in disgrace. It was revealed he privately advised a senior Chinese diplomat in February 2021 that Beijing should hold off freeing Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor. The man is a Chinese agent in everything but name. He will continue to pollute parliament sitting as an independent.

National Security Adviser Jody Thomas confirmed foreign interference in Canadian elections, which has been a persistent and growing threat, coming largely from China. Thomas also spoke of the ongoing leaks of government intelligence that have grown to become a major concern. There are increasing calls for a public inquiry. 11 Liberal candidates were assisted by China. Until recently, the Liberals adopted a strangely benign stance toward interference from Beijing. It now seems that there was a political will to do so. That has changed as facts emerge. Canada’s security agencies, including CSIS, warned the Liberal party that some of its candidates were being helped by the Chinese government. This warning was ignored. Global News alleged that Han Dong, MP for Don Valley North, was aided in the win in his riding in the 2019 election by the Chinese consulate in Toronto.

Trudeau said he was 'extremely lucky and happy' to have Dong.

According to Global, the Chinese consulate bused in seniors and Chinese students to vote en mass for Dong in the nomination contest that was fiercely contested by other Liberal candidates. Onni Group sued by City of Burnaby

Burnaby is suing Onni Group over “significant damage” to its sidewalks and streets. The city says construction on the Gilmore Place development by Onni Group has resulted in “cracking and deformation”. Construction of Gilmore Place caused the city’s property to settle, and the excavation caused a reduction in groundwater level and subsequent settlement of soil.

Burnaby is also suing architect IBI Group, structural engineers Bryson Markulin and Glotman Simpson, and engineering consultancy GeoPacific. The quality of Onni Group construction, according to mountainous material on the internet, is beyond the horrible. The only thing worse is their track record as landlords, which is unspeakable.

HA booze can/drug den busted in central Utrecht

'Expressions' of the HAMC is banned, as is operation of the club in any form.

Cops raided a residence and busted 6 HA for drugs and operating a booze can, among other things. The HAMC is banned in Holland. The building used was shuttered for 'unauthorized catering purposes'. One biker was busted with weapons and so-called pony packs, envelopes with drugs. In July last year, the Supreme Court ruled that the ban on the Hells Angels in the Netherlands would remain in place.

Canada finally rid of Italian ’Ndrangheta Domenico Cugliari

Nine Italian cops were waiting at the door of an Air Canada jet arriving in Rome from Toronto. They lined the boarding bridge to the airplane door, taking no chances to grab a passenger who had fought for years in Canada to not be put on that plane. Domenico Cugliari, 40, married a Canadian woman in Toronto, and he wanted to stay to avoid justice. Once identified and busted in 2020, he claimed refugee protection, saying he would face persecution by the Italian state. He argued his tale over and over at lengthy immigration hearings and court challenges. Cugliari is a made member of the ’Ndrangheta.

Bosses of the ’Ndrangheta have been in Canada for decades, hiding in plain sight. Many become Canadian citizens, others are avoiding prison or rivals in Italy as permanent residents. Among other things, Cugliari was a front man for the Bonavota clan. Members of the Bonavota clan have been living in Ontario since at least 2009. They are trusted and respected by senior mob bosses in Toronto. The same day Cugliari was arrested he made a refugee claim.

He was eventually released on bond. After a lengthy immigration hearing he was ruled inadmissible due to organized criminality in November 2021. His refugee claim was rejected weeks later. Cugliari appealed to the Federal Court of Canada, challenging both decisions. Finally on Feb. 23, 2023, a Federal Court judge rejected his appeals. “Everyone ordered to be removed from Canada is entitled to due process ..." said a CBSA mouthpiece.

Jasper reels in €2.4m in cocaine

Irish cops bagged 34kg of cocaine with the help of K9 Jasper. They stopped and searched a vehicle that had disembarked from a ferry from Cherbourg, France. A man in his 30s was arrested by gardaí.

Former Quebec CBSA agent Stefanie McClelland gets parole

Former Quebec customs officer Stefanie McClelland, 45, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for her role in a cocaine smuggling incident at the Lacolle border crossing. She was found guilty of drug smuggling and breach of trust after allowing 182kg of cocaine through her border checkpoint in 2014. McClelland was unaware that she was being closely watched by the RCMP when she conspired to let the drugs enter Canada. Authorities had uncovered the plot. She had a hearing before the Parole Board of Canada last week and was granted day parole.

Evidence against McClelland included a text message between her and the leader, informing him that she was posted at a designated NEXUS customs booth.

He and his vehicle had been flagged for inspection. Seven minutes after she sent the text, a BMW pulled up and was let through after 36 seconds and no checks. Cops pounced and seized the cocaine.

Elvis Demce - Albanian mob boss who invaded Rome - update

"Love, it's over, say hello to our son". This was the last phone call from Ciccio Barbuto before he died. Francesco Vitale, known as Ciccio Barbuto, died in the Magliana area in Rome from a fall after being kidnapped. His kidnappers demanded half a million euros in ransom, equal to the drug debt he ran up with Elvis Demce. After being tortured Barbuto was granted a last call to his fiancée.

The door to new groups opened around 2017 and the Albanians passed through it. The murder of Diabolik marked a turning point. Fabrizio Piscitelli, nicknamed Diabolik, was the leader of the Lazio soccer club’s ultras group. He also controlled a large part of the drug trade in Rome, thanks to the support of the Albanians.Elvis Demce took up the role of boss. The son of Albanians was completely Romanized, with his group speaking in Romanesco, the local dialect.

Demce called himself Don Pablo, after Pablo Escobar. When he got out of prison, he had big plans. But someone had taken over his territory, Ermal Aarpaj. Their conflict attracted the attention of cops. Cornered, Elvis Demce decided to confront the state with violence. The Albanian’s plan included assassinating policemen and two judges, brothers Francesco and Giuseppe Cascini. Demce planned to commit the attack in the heart of Rome. He made the mistake of carrying out his explicit calls through SkyEcc, whose server Europol had intercepted months before. The operation concluded with 27 arrests and the dismantling of the group. They have been charged with crimes of international drug trafficking and organized crime.
