Salvatore Ponzo - Costa Rica cocaine

In publicity photos Salvatore Ponzo wears polo shirts and baseball caps emblazoned with the logo of his company. It was a different look from Ponzo when he was executed in May 2018.
Ponzo's "Tierra Nuestra Latina" exported pineapples and other fruit and vegetables to Europe. Salvatore Ponzo was also a major cocaine trafficker, and his murder resulted from a drug deal gone bad. An Italian court convicted Ponzo’s father and business partner of using their fruit company to traffick cocaine.

The killing was payback for a missing shipment Ponzo’s partners suspected him of stealing.
