Christopher Loyie pleads guilty

Christopher Loyie pled guilty in Edmonton to conspiracy to manufacture fentanyl, money laundering and possession for the purpose of trafficking. His pleas come 2 months after his brother, Jonathan Loyie, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role. The investigation began in January 2021 after cops noted the importation of hundreds of kilograms of fentanyl precursor chemicals from China. Precursors could have produced 485 kg to 770 kg of finished fentanyl. CL Lab Equipment Ltd. imported a shipment of lab equipment from China. Cops raided July 7, 2021.
See ----->Jonathan Loyie.Loyie remains on bail. His sentencing is set for September. A Gladue report will be prepared as the Loyies are Cree. The indian card didn't help his brother and likely won't help him. Several co-accused still have cases before the courts including brother Chad Loyie.
