Project Pelican – 479 kg cocaine

Announced June 10, 2025, Project Pelican marked the largest drug seizure in Peel cop’s history – with nearly $50 million worth of cocaine. 9 men were arrested and nailed with 35 charges related to firearms and drugs. 479 kilograms of bricked cocaine were lassoed, with an estimated street value of $47.9M. Two illegal loaded semi-automatic handguns were also seized. The bust followed a year-long probe into a group of drug traffickers who used commercial trucks to smuggle cocaine across the U.S. border into Canada.
