‘Spring cleaning’ 3 years on – Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Larivière


Hugues Leblanc, 47, was found tied up in the trunk of his burnt-out vehicle in Pointe-aux-Trembles in May 2022. Stéphane Dupuis was whacked on April 12 and Sébastien Giroux on May 10. All three men had something in common, they all did drug business for the Hells Angels and all were killed on territory controlled by HAMC drug boss Jean-Richard Lariviere.

The three Hells Angels-related murders in Montreal were all known to police as a cocaine traffickers. Leblan worked for the Montreal section of the Hells Angels. Stéphane Dupuis was a close associate of HA Mario Brouillette, a man considered a top actor in organized crime in Quebec. Sébastien Giroux had close ties to hitman turned informant Frédérick Silva. All 3 murders remain unsolved.

Larivière is charged with conspiring to kill Vincent Lamer on November 3, 2017 and Samy Tamouro, a man tied to the Hells Angels in Quebec who was killed in Mexico near the end of 2023. He is also charged in the Silva hit of Sébastien Beauchamp on December 20, 2018. He faces five counts: three of premeditated murder, attempted murder with a firearm and conspiracy to murder. He remains caged.
