 | Gamble's lawyers appealed his 7.5 year sentence because the trial judge erred by not ordering the preparation of a Gladue Report. The judge relied on 3 pre-sentence reports instead.
By law, judges must consider Gladue factors when sentencing First Nations people vis-a-vis "systemic and background factors."
Gamble's appeal failed.
