He is a crypto trader using Brightway Financial LLP, based in the UAE. El-Helou washes crypto of rogue players. Dirty crypto is cashed out at a Moscow crypto exchange, Garantex being one, into a Russian Bank, wired into an account in a different Russian Bank under the name of a different entity, then used to buy clean assets. El-Helou uses accounts at Sberbank, Gazprombank, and VTB. He operates freely.

A competitor in the business wants him dead. One of El-Helou's biggest competitors in the money laundering arena is the Altaf Khamani network, which is similar in scope and size. If one were to guess who wants Sami El-Helou dead, it would likely be the Altaf Khamani network. Khamani was indicted in June 2015 and arrested in September 2016 in Panama by the DEA. In a plea bargain, he bought 68 months and a $250k fine. Khanani was released on July 13, 2020 and operates from the UAE again in the clear open. The UAE is a well known destination for illicit cash.

There has always been compelling circumstantial evidence in the murder of Donny Lyons. Prabtaj Singh Sandher and Gurtaj Singh Sandher are the killers. Strong circumstantial evidence against them is not enough to convince a judge of their guilt.
On June 15, 2024 Donald Bryce Lyons, 51, was gunned down in his Princeton driveway. Donny Lyons was no choirboy. He was a major gangster, one of the founders of the Independent Soldiers. Lyons spent his entire adult life doing crimes. Lester Jones, the out bad thief vice-president of the Kelowna Hells Angels, was close friends with Lyons. When Lyons was murdered he was a major player in the production of synthetic drugs including fentanyl. Lyons was shot down like a dog by his partners, and that was a fate he likely deserved.
Donald Bryce Lyons' story is notable for the fact that those he trusted eliminated him, common for those in his line of work. Gangsters need to fear those closest to them. Lyons trusted the Khalistani Sandhers, and the Sinaloa Cartel. That was a fatal mistake.
Prabtaj Singh Sandher and Gurtaj Singh Sandher executed Lyons. Prabtaj Singh Sandher was likely the man who pulled the trigger to make his bones with the Sinaloa Cartel. The hit was ordered by Sinaloa Cartel boss Edgar Watson. Donald Lyons was murdered because he was competition in the synthetic drug lab business.

Unless the Sandhers are charged with the murder of Donnie Lyons, nobody will be. The decision to whack Donnie Lyons was an extremely bad one. Murdering your partners may be fine in Sinaloa Mexico but its frowned upon in Canada. Lyons was well connected and revenge on the killers through rats has been large.
His killers have seen multiple labs get busted, and nobody in gangland wants anything more to do with them. Gangsters are reluctant to become the next partners and existing gangsters wonder if they are next. The Sandhers, Donny Lyons and to a lesser degree Dale Habib were in partnership in the synthetic drug business and that business was booming.
The huge load of meth precursors found in Enderby and lassoed by cops belonged to them. RCMP raided a rural property in September 2024 and seized over 30,000 kg of precursor chemicals. The precursors fed multiple labs, including the Falkland lab, which was busted in October.
The Langley fentanyl lab was also busted in October.The Spallumcheen lab was nailed in Feb.

A truck registered to Lyons was on the Enderby property. Precursors were purchased by Sami El-Helou and came through DeltaPort via Ricco the Pig Puncher and the HAMC.

P2P meth is manufactured with phenyl-2-propanone (phenylacetone). Purity is above 90% and it is cheap to produce. This was the first time it was found in Western Canada. Other reagents in meth production include hypophosphorous acid, iodine, sulfuric acid and red and white phosphorus. For every kilo of meth, 5 to 7 kilos of toxic waste is produced. For every kilo of fentanyl, up to 15 kilos of toxic waste is produced.
Donny Lyons must be laughing in the afterlife. For all of the dark plots of the Sinaloa Cartel, his murder was the beginning of the end for their operation. Half a dozen labs have been shuttered. American intelligence received in January will result in busts of further labs scattered across B.C.
