Dirty socks, footprints sink trucker Harvinder Singh = 11 years

Trucker Harvinder Singh was found guilty at trial. He imported 62 kilos of cocaine in his commercial truck at the bridge connecting the Sarnia area and Michigan on March 31, 2021. CBSA officers testified about footprints and dirty socks. The Greenway Carriers trailer they inspected carried bags of carbon black, a powdery substance used as a pigment and reinforcing agent in vehicle tires. Footprints on top of the pallets on the right side of the trailer were observed. Singh’s white socks were dirty and the bottoms were covered in a black, soot-like substance.

"Godfather" of Montreal gangs in troubled waters - revisited

By 2021 reports of a power struggle between boss of the Reds Arsène Mompoint and Gregory Woolley were in the press. Mompoint was the target of an attempted murder in August 2019. He was killed in Kanesatake on July 1, 2021. In February of the same year, his top associate Frank Pascal Dieudonné was assassinated. Cops said Mompoint was "in conflict with certain representatives of organized crime", including Gregory Woolley and his 'right arm' Jean Winsing Barthelus. Ex-leader of Unit 44 and responsible for scores of contract killings, Arsène Mompoint was known to cops since the 90s. He had strong links to Lebanese gangsters.

Cops recorded Gregory Woolley and two leaders of the Rizzuto clan saying that they no longer trusted Andrew Scoppa or his brother, Salvatore, whom they suspected to be a police rat. Both Scoppa brothers were shot dead in 2019.

Gregory Woolley's star in the HAMC fell (along with Salvatore Cazzetta) with the failed execution plot to eliminate Raynald Desjardins in 2015. Woolley was charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking in addition to the conspiracy to commit murder charge. When he was released in 2020 he became firmly entrenched with the Sicilians.

Toronto cops seize over 992 kilos

Toronto cops have seized 551 kilograms of cocaine and 441 kilograms of crystal meth in a drug bust they say is the largest in their history. Seven from the GTA are charged with a combined 30 offences. Camron Longmore 20, Zubayul Hoque, 25, Bryan Sherritt, 37, Abubakar Mohamed, 30, Tenzin Palden, 25, Bashir Hasan Abdi, 34, and Lucho Loder, 43 are busted.

Leonardo Rizzuto wounded in hit attempt - update V

The two men arrested in connection to the attempted murder of mob boss Leonardo Rizzuto in March were denied bail. Kevin Rochebrun, 32, of Mascouche, and Steve Emmanuel Barthelemy, 34, of Rivière-des-Prairies, were scheduled at the Laval courthouse again. They face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Kevin Rochebrun, associated with the Reds, was already known to the police for his attack on mafioso Marco Pizzi. Its said Francesco Del Balso, the man behind the hit attempt, had a contract on his head for $250,000.

Reports surfaced that the powerful Martin Robert had a meeting with Francesco Del Balso a few days after cops raided them. Robert is suspected of plotting with the mafioso to kill Rizzuto.

A man was arrested as a suspect in the failed hit on Montreal Mafia boss Leonardo Rizzuto carried out last month. He was released hours later without being charged. Cops said the person is known to them for his ties to organized crime. The suspect is a 32-year-old man who has served time in the past for his role in another failed hit on a member of the Montreal Mafia carried out several years ago in Montreal. La Presse reported that Rizzuto was at the Romcafé on des Laurentides Blvd. in Laval before the shooting occurred.

Leonardo Rizzuto, 53, boss in the Montreal mafia, has been wounded in an attempted hit. His vehicle was fired upon on Highway 440 in Laval. His Mercedes GLE 53 was peppered with a least 6 shots. It was parked in front of a funeral home at the corner of the Highway 13 service road and Rue Principale after the injured Rizzuto drove to escape his attackers.

Rizzuto was shot in the leg.

Life sentence for Wo Shing Wo gangster Leung Kwok-chung

Leung Kwok-chung was found guilty of the murder of rival gangster Lee Tai-lung, who was killed in 2009. Leung, then a senior member of the Wo Shing Wo triad, masterminded the machete attack on Lee, of the rival Sun Yee On gang, at the Kowloon Shangri-La hotel. Lee was knocked down by a car and hacked to death by three men on the hotel’s doorstep. Leung carried a grudge against Lee over a 2006 brawl between the two groups at a bar. The fight left Leung with a scar down the right side of his face. After killing Lee Tai-lung, Leung Kwok-chung fled to Mainland China and then Thailand.

Mafia killer Vito Guzzo says he's “completely rehabilitated” - release denied - revisited

Thug Vito Guzzo confessed to murdering five. He won’t get early release from prison, a judge ruled in May. His scheduled release is November 2028. Guzzo’s many crimes were too serious and the danger he poses to the community too great to consider springing him early.

Vito Guzzo is serving a 38-year sentence for five murders in the 1990s. He sought compassionate release under the First Step Act. He describes himself as “completely rehabilitated” and someone who “has matured from a rash young man pursuing a lawless lifestyle, to a reflective, empathetic middle-aged adult.” Feds aren't impressed, and point out he was inducted into the Colombo family while caged at the federal prison in Danbury, Conn.

Cops describe Guzzo as an ultra violent hood with a hair-trigger temper who set the tone for his murderous crew.

In his request for release, the 57 year old Guzzo refered to himself as elderly. He describes serious injuries from two shootings in 1990 and 1996, which left him with the loss of sight in one eye and the removal of part of his left lung. Suspected in scores of killings, Guzzo survived 11 gunshot wounds from two hit attempts.

Cop chief says no cop escort for HAMC 'Toy Drive' - Biker Santa

Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall says he will quit if the city forces his officers to help with a Christmas toy run. He says the reason is because the Hells Angels are involved in it. "This is a hill I'm willing to die on, and I'm willing to give up my job before I order the police department to do this escort," Marshall said. "That's how serious I am about it." For years, hundreds of motorcyclists, including Santa, have paraded down Fairfield streets in the Samoa Mission Christmas Toy Run. Fairfield police served as escort. The chief says no more.

Earlier this year, four other Hells Angels were indicted in connection with a vicious beating in Solano County.
