Martin Taccetta says he was framed

Taccetta wants a new trial.
Martin Taccetta, 72, former boss in the Lucchese family, says he was framed by prosecutors for evil deeds related to the rub-out of auto dealer Vincent “Jimmy Sinatra” Craparotta in 1984. Craparotta, 56, was beaten to death by men with golf clubs at his car lot on June 12, 1984, to scare his nephews into paying tribute to the Luccheses from earnings on their video poker machines. Taccetta beat the murder rap, but he was found guilty of racketeering, conspiracy, and extortion. He received life plus 10 years. Taccetta claims his dental records, which he says proved he was at his dentist’s office when Craparotta was killed, were secretly altered.

Thomas Ricciardi was convicted in the 1984 golf club death of Vincent Craparotta Sr.
The government presented testimony from turncoat Mafia underbosses that Taccetta told them he and an associate “whacked” the victim “over some Joker Pokers” and used golf clubs rather than baseball bats to do the job because “bats break.”

Taccetta was a top capo.

Former Las Vegas cop sentenced in 3 casino heists = 12 years

Caleb M. Rogers, 35, was caged 12 years for robbing 3 casinos, brandishing a department-issued gun during one of the heists. Rogers was a cop with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department when he robbed the Red Rock, Aliante and Rio casinos between November 2021 and February 2022, each time wearing black latex gloves, dark clothing and a mask. Rogers was low on funds because of his gambling addiction. When Rogers left after his first heist, security cameras captured a telling detail: he kicked his left foot out while walking. Several weeks later another robbery's security footage revealed the same unusual walk. The next month things went sour. Rogers “climbed over the counter, grabbed one of the women by her shoulders with both hands and shoved her to the floor.” After other employee set off an alarm, Rogers bolted but was tackled by security.
Rogers has been on unpaid suspension and in jail since his arrest Feb. 27, 2022.

4 California Hells Angels cremated - Merl Frederick Hefferman = 4 years

HA Merl Hefferman, 54, was sentenced to 4 years. The fourth missing biker is Juan Guevara, another Hells Angel. Hefferman used a California funeral home dubbed the “pizza oven” to get rid of bodies. Hefferman pleaded guilty to obstructing justice by disposing of Joel Silva’s body but hasn't been charged with the three other cremations.
Robbie Lane Huff II and Juan Guevara.
Hefferman had murder victim Joel Silva cremated June 16, 2014. Months after Silva’s murder, Hefferman did another cremation, this one Robbie Huff, an ex-Hells Angel who vanished Feb. 11, 2015. The third biker to be incinerated was Art Carasis, last seen at the Fresno clubhouse on July 7, 2016. A fourth cremated body is HA Juan Guevara. After Carasis was cremated, Hefferman went on KMPH to promote the 18th Fresno Hells Angels Toy Run.
Hefferman described the community support as 'awesome.' He's looking at 7 years in jail.
4 missing California Hells Angels were clandestinely cremated in a Fresno funeral home. So say federal prosecutors as 11 Hells Angels are answering for a range of crimes related to murder, assault, maiming, racketeering conspiracy, witness intimidation, drug distribution, robbery, extortion, illegal firearms possession and obstruction of justice. 9 of the 11 are with the Sonoma chapter, two with the Fresno and the Salem/Boston Hells Angels chapters.
As part of the investigation into HA Joel Silva’s death, feds learned that Fresno HA Merl Frederick Hefferman, 54, was involved in arranging secret cremations. Levi Phipps, a manager at the Yost and Webb funeral home in Fresno, testified that before Silva’s death Hefferman asked for keys to the funeral home and spoke of his “fascination with the crematory” and a desire to make “something disappear.”

Hitman who killed Eddie 'Hurricaine' Melo granted parole

On April 6, 2001, Charles Gagné, now 50, killed Eddie Melo and his cousin Joao Pavao in Mississauga. Cops consider Melo’s murder to have been part of “the historical conflicts within ‘Ndrangheta".

Gagné later shot another man inside his home during an argument, but the victim survived. Gagné was arrested for the second shooting and decided to become a rat when he learned he was being investigated for Melo’s death. He bought a 15 year non-parole period instead of 25. Melo was Canadian middleweight champion in 1979 and was embraced by Montreal boxing fans. In 1986, a provincial task force revealed Melo had been hired as a driver and bodyguard for Frank Cotroni, the now-deceased leader of a once powerful Mafia clan in Montreal. Melo eventually moved to Ontario and worked as a Mob enforcer.

Hells Angels have dethroned Montreal Mafia - flashback

This was posted in October 2016.
For over 30 years the Rizzuto clan ruled the roost of organized crime in Quebec in partnership with the Hells Angels and street gangs. Now even they are paying taxes for the right to operate. Such an outcome would have been unimaginable for Vito Rizzuto, who ruled with an iron hand while at the top of the pyramid in Quebec. The natural death of Rizzuto in December 2013 torpedoed the Sicilian Clan and marked the beginning of the end. Project Mastiff-Magot was another heavy blow that weakened and disorganized the mob, which has given way to the surging Hells Angels.
Multiple sources say organized crime in Quebec is currently controlled by the Hells Angels, who have established a 'superstructure' guided by 'committee decisions' that put them at the very top of the pyramid. Reportedly Mario Brouillette, Robert Martin, and brothers Sylvain and François Vachon are on the committee, which uses lieutenants in each region to control puppet clubs for the 'big gang'. It is estimated over 80% of the Province of Quebec is under their direct control.

Robert Martin
The Hells Angels have taken over former mafia territory and have made inroads into New Brunswick and Ontario. While the Hells Angels ascend, the Montreal Mafia has had no real leadership since the Magot Mastiff-operation and the consecutive murders of three prominent members of the Rizzuto clan in 2016. The end of the reign of the Sicilians seems complete. While the alliance has ended, there is no animosity between bikers and the remaining Sicilian mafiosi. It is unclear if this will remain so if the 'Ndrangheta' re-establishes dominance in Montreal.

BIG drug bust on Saskatchewan-Alberta border

A traffic stop near the Saskatchewan-Alberta border in June led to the arrest of two Edmonton men and the seizure of cocaine and methamphetamine worth about $4 million. Cops found four duffel bags with 90 kg of methamphetamine and 65 kg of cocaine. Testing of the drugs found some of the meth was 100% pure. The two are ages 19 and 20. Cops are releasing few details "due to complexity of the ongoing investigation."
