Marvel's Hells Angel

The HAMC sued Marvel in the early 90s for naming a character "Hell's Angel" - the evil Mephisto's loyal servant. Mephisto killed her father and she was trapped into serving the villain. She broke free of him, but couldn't escape the biker lawsuit.

Marvel acquiesced to the club and changed the character name to Dark Angel. Another lawsuit followed after which the Dark Angel was retired by Marvel.

Colombia lands narco sub with 4 tons

A narco sub filled with 4 tons of cocaine was intercepted by the Colombian military. The shipment is estimated to be worth $145m. Four men on board the vessel were arrested. The shipment belonged to a Colombian guerrilla group, the Alfonso Cano Western Bloc, and is the largest narcotics bust in the last two years.

The Phoenix Police Department reassigned nine cops and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office admitted prosecutors failed to properly vet a case that resulted in a group of protesters being charged as a criminal street gang.

Cops and prosecutors fed the grand jury gross exaggerations, dubious claims, and lies. 3 former assistant chiefs claim they were improperly demoted and are demanding $5m to settle their claims or they will file a lawsuit.

Q: What is that name of this gang? A: It is called ACAB, A-C-A-B, and it stands for All Cops Are Bastards. We first came into contact with this group through graffiti, signage, ACAB written on the back of skateboards ..." Q: And are you finding that ACAB is following the exact same type of philosophy of let’s say the Bloods and the Crips? A: Yes. Q: And what about even maybe the same philosophy as the Hells Angels? A: Very similar, yes.

The legal threat is one of many now facing Phoenix and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Phoenix Sgt. Doug McBride also filed a lawsuit. He says the gossip hurt his reputation.

Barrett M82 semi-automatic rifle - 'weapon of war'

The U.S.-made M82 semi-automatic rifle is increasingly favored by Mexican drug cartels. The Barrett .50 cal M82 can easily penetrate bulletproof vests, concrete walls and even tanks. M82s, often fitted with a scope to act as sniper's weapon, can fire 70 rounds per minute with a maximum range of 2,500 meters. First manufactured in the 1980s, the M82 rose to prominence during the first Gulf War when it was adopted by the U.S. military. It's now used by more than 70 security agencies across the world. It retails for around $10,199.99.

In 2019, a record 68 such weapons were captured.

For cartels, the M82 has become a status symbol. Gangs that want to project power post photos on social media of their members toting M82s and the latest military gadgets, mimicking the style of special forces units.

The raw power of the rifle was displayed in 2020 during a military-style assassination attempt on Mexico City's police chief's armoured car.

UK EncroChat gun traffickers go away for a long time

UK gangster Michael Brown was one of two men who stabbed to death Colin McGinty after mistaking him for a gangland rival. In 2001 he was sentenced to life. Brown was released in 2017 after serving 16 years. He changed his name to Michael Hoy and became a landscaper. Hoy sourced an EncroChat phone and brokered deals for firearms including AK47s using the codename TimelyBeta. He was sentenced to life with a minimum of six years for the explosive and gun offences plus 14 years for drugs crimes.

Patrick Murray, 25, was given a life sentence.

AK47s, pistols and ‘pineapples’ - slang for grenades - were obtained by cops. Hoy asked Murray: “You got a pic of them new apples mate.” Murray replied: “No mate but there meant to belters - I can try get viewing on them if need”. Hoy responded: “This fella wants them all. 1250 told him.” Pictures of grenades were later sent from Murray to Hoy.

213 pounds of cocaine discovered on bus in Mississippi

When cops started to search the bus, one of the men attempted to flee. Deputies located 20 packages of cocaine amounting to 213 pounds. Fredy Gutierrez and Gabriel Manuel were arrested. Estimated street value of the cocaine is $14 million.

Photo costs UK gangster 25 years in jail

This photo helped UK cops lasso Umair Zaheer, a 'ruthless gangster' and gun runner who helped plot gangland shootings. Zaheer is beginning a 25 year jail sentence after EncroChat messages revealed his involvement in sourcing guns and drug dealing. The image of Zaheer provided police with a breakthrough as they found the same clothes he had been wearing in the picture. The Louis Vuitton T-shirt, grey top, trousers and trainers were all recovered by cops. His close ally Bilal Khan, 33, was also identified as he posed with the machine gun. Zaheer and Khan were sentenced alongside five other men for firearms and drugs offences.

Zaheer was involved in helping broker deals to sell weapons to other criminals. He arranged a £37,000 deal to sell Uzi and Skorpion sub machine guns, as well as a pistol to Khan.

Mexico's plane lottery brings gangsters

Mexico's "plane lottery" gave away 100 prizes of 20m pesos each. ($950k) Often the 500 peso tickets in Mexico's plane lottery were bought by anonymous benefactors and donated to poor schools and nurseries. A list of the 100 winners was announced in September 2020 and published in Mexican newspapers.

The parents used the funds to build a new roof for the preschool and then the rest on social projects in their village.

José María Morelos y Pavón kindergarten in El Nacimiento is a tiny nursery in the indigenous village of Ocosingo. It was among the winners. The nursery has just over two dozen pupils. Their parents were put in charge of administering the windfall. Celebration turned into grief soon after news spread. Parents started receiving threats from an armed group called Los Petules which demanded that the prize money be used to buy guns.

The situation escalated in November when the gang attacked women and children in the village, causing 28 families to flee.

Ex-top drug cop in Bolivia charged with cocaine trafficking

Former Bolivian antinarcotics chief Maximiliano Dávila Pérez has been charged in the U.S. with conspiring to provide top-level protection for cocaine shipments. Bolivian authorities arrested Dávila-Perez last month on suspicion of money laundering as he was trying to flee to Argentina. Dávila-Perez served as antinarcotics chief in the final months of Evo Morales' presidency, which ended in November 2019 when the former coca farmer resigned amid street protests after his claim he had won election to an unprecedented fourth term.

Dávila-Perez, a 57-year-old former police coronel, was removed as antinarcotics chief by Morales' successor.

Morales expelled the DEA from Bolivia in 2008, accusing it of plotting to overthrow his government. U.S. prosecutors allege that Bolivia’s antinarcotics agency is rife with corruption. Foreign Minister Rogelio Mayta said his government would evaluate the U.S. request that Dávila-Perez be extradited to face trial. President Luis Arce is an ally of Morales.

HA Bob Green killer Jason Wallace out on stat parole

The Parole Board has imposed conditions on the statutory release of Jason Wallace, who killed HA Bob Green on Oct. 16, 2016.

A mystery man gave Wallace two options after Bob Green's murder: He could kill himself or he could turn himself in to the Hells Angels. If he didn’t, his family would be executed. The next day he placed a distraught 911 call and confessed to killing Green. Wallace was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. His friend Shaun Clary, who brought the gun to the party, was dismembered 10 days after Green's slaying.

Wallace was sentenced to 6½ years for manslaughter. The original murder charge was dropped. Green, 56, had been intimately associated with the 856 Gang since its formation and was it's mentor, through his cousin Lenny Pelletier and Pelletier’s son Caylen. The Pelletiers were also close to Wallace.

Economics of Narco planes

A total of 288 kilos of cocaine was found inside a Cessna that crash landed after being shot down in Perdenales, Dominican Republic in October 2021. Dominican Republic security forces said the haul was worth $4m. Depending on air worthiness, the average price for a Cessna 310 is about $100k.

The luxury narco jet busted Dec 15 in Guatemala was transporting 1,028 kilos of cocaine. At roughly $10k per kilo in Mexico the cargo was worth at least $10.2m. The acquisition cost of a Gulfstream III is around $900k.

A jet filled with cocaine landed on a rough strip in a Guatemalan jungle on Jan 27, 2020. Traffickers had emptied the plane's cargo. An air force pilot flew the Hawker Siddeley HS 125/Hawker 800 out again. The aircraft is known for its hardy airframe and landing gear. Early planes can cost $200k.

On February 27th, 2020, a Gulfstream II business jet loaded with 69 bales of cocaine on board was busted in Belize. The 2,070 kgs set a new record. GII jet aircraft are largely out of service making them cheap to acquire for this type of one-way flight. They can be had for several hundred thousand dollars, or less. They can also carry a large payload.

10 mongol mc arrested in connection with battle with Hells Angels

10 people have been charged in a 2020 gun battle between two OMGs that left one person dead and three others injured. The charges stem from a conflict on July 11, 2020, outside Jake’s Roadhouse bar and restaurant in Arvada, CO between the Hells Angels and Mongols. The 10 suspects were busted across four states from Florida to California. They face a myriad of charges including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. Cops found William “Kelly” Henderson dead and three others injured, including one man who suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Cocaine worth €3.1m seized at Dublin Port

Gardaí and Revenue customs officers seized cocaine worth €3.1m at Dublin Port. Authorities found 45kg of cocaine after stopping and seaching a vehicle at the port. The drugs were found in the refrigeration unit of the vehicle following a search aided by detector dog James. The bust comes a week after 20kg cocaine worth an estimated €1.4m was seized at Dublin Port.

Another Guatemalan narco jet - Update

The luxury narco jet busted Dec 15 was transporting 1,028 kilos of cocaine. It was forced to crash land after the discovery of its attempted flight to the Mexican Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). It's reported the drugs were farmed in the Venezuelan border area by Colombia's FARC. FARC then smuggled it north into Central America where it was to be received by members of the CJNG. The Gulfstream III business jet had taken off from a secret runway in Venezuela when authorities detected it. The acquisition cost of a Gulfstream III is between $945k to $1.1m

The illegal aircraft was detected Dec 15 by the Guatemalan Air Force. Military units were sent to the Arroyo Santa Amalia community, where they located the aircraft.

NZ Mongrel Mob = 'cowardly attack'

Mongrel Mob boss Terrance Berryman was jailed for 23 months after a "cowardly" attack by 18 gangsters on a man in his home. Berryman, president of the Redcoats chapter in Hawke's Bay, organized the attack after his father was involved in a road rage incident. Berryman said on social media that he was "going to smash his fucking head in".

In full colours, the group attacked the man in his home while his partner and three children were present.

The victim suffered a traumatic brain injury, a fractured skull, a deep skull laceration, a burst eardrum and other injuries.

Cocaine in coconuts

Cocaine in fruit is not new. A shipment of yellow dragonfruit was seized in Hong Kong in 2016. It was found to contain 13.3 kg of liquid cocaine.

A shipment of 20,000 coconuts filled with liquid cocaine has been discovered at a Colombian port en route to Italy. “Upon inspection, it was established that the water in the tropical fruit had been exchanged for liquid cocaine,” said prosecutors.

The 'Five Guys' killing

At the Kamloops Law Courts the 'Five Guys' case refers to five city men, each with ties to gangs and the drug trade, charged with murder in the same slaying. They killed career criminal Troy Gold, 35. Nathan Townsend was a drug dealer who assembled a group of thugs to ‘fuck him up’. He instructed them to 'get digits' meaning to bring back one of Gold’s fingers to confirm the assault. The beating was exceptionally violent. Court heard details about Gold pleading for his life. They slipped Gold’s severed finger into a black sunglasses bag to take to Townsend, and the men left. Gold’s skull, spinal column and leg bones were found by cops 12 days later, about 800 metres from where he’d been left to die.

Townsend texted two of the killers and told them they could take money off their drug debts — $500 and $250, respectively. Four of the Five Guys pleaded guilty to manslaughter and the fifth was acquitted. Nathan Townsend pleaded guilty on Dec. 13 to one count of manslaughter and one count of obstructing justice. He was sentenced to just under seven years in prison.

Indian gangster shot 24 times

Indian gangsters took no chances with the hit on Mohit Rana, a gangster affiliated with the Bhupi Rana gang. He was shot dead in Ambala Cantonment. An autopsy revealed that 20 bullets passed through his body and another four were lodged inside. After the killing, a Facebook post by Goldy Brar claimed credit for the murder with his “brother” Kala Rana.
