’Ndrangheta boss Ursino Giuseppe - parole denied

Giuseppe (Pino) Ursino Grandfather and convicted mob boss Giuseppe 'Pino' Ursino has been denied parole after showing no remorse. His case marked the first time in Canada that the ’Ndrangheta was targeted as an organized crime group. Star crown witness against Ursino was police agent Carmine Guido, a former gangster who testified that Ursino was a boss who sat on the group’s “Camera Di Controllo,” or board of control. Ursino’s trial heard more than 40 secretly recorded conversations involving Guido. The word “respect” came up 33 times.
Ursino was a senior member of the board of directors of the ’Ndrangheta, the “Camera Di Controllo.”
Senior underworld boss Giuseppe (Pino) Ursino, 68 has lost his appeal for parole. The decision by the parole board’s appeal division came after Ursino argued COVID made him fear for his health. He refused the COVID vaccine when it was offered to him. His explanation was that he didn't know enough English. That didn't fly with the parole board. Ursino was sentenced to 11½ years in prison in Feb 2019 for conspiring to traffic cocaine and other charges, including gangsterism. In his trial, Ursino dismissed the secret police recordings used to nail him. “The stupid words come out of my mouth,” Ursino testified. “What I’m talking is one thing. What I mean is another.”

ex-Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum

Former mayor of Surrey Doug McCallum returned his city provided vehicle without bothering to repair his collision damage. A final FU to Surrey taxpayers. McCallum drove the city-owned $47k Buick Envision before losing Saturday’s election. He also had a $15k vehicle allowance. Running under the slogan “Doug Gets it Done,” McCallum faces a looming trial for public mischief with the City picking up his legal bills, even though he was on personal business buying groceries.
McCallum claims he was “verbally assaulted”. McCallum made a police complaint and a claim with ICBC for his injuries. Doug McCallum is 78 years old. The mayor of Surrey, B.C., has been charged with public mischief. The B.C. Prosecution Service announced the single criminal count against Doug McCallum. McCallum claimed he had been struck by a car driven by a woman with the group "Keep the RCMP in Surrey" in the parking lot of a Save-On-Foods store on Sept 4. He claimed he was ‘assaulted and run over’ at the pro-RCMP event. Video apparently says he's lying. The scandal plagued Surrey Police is his pet project. He has attacked "Keep the RCMP in Surrey" repeatedly, even banning the group from civic meetings with a court order.

Noel Harder - HA Rat dead

Noel Patrick Harder died of health complications earlier this month. He was 43.
Noel Harder decided to become a secret police agent after he got busted. He then spent three years testifying as a star witness against fellow drug dealers, gun runners, mobsters and the Hells Angels. At one point it was said a six figure bounty was on his head. The RCMP kicked Harder out of the federal Witness Protection Program for violations.
Harder was one of the highest level criminals in Saskatoon, and was described as a narcissist and sociopath.
Harder's work as a police agent began after he was pulled over while transporting dozens of guns. At the time, Harder was a senior member of the Fallen Saints Motorcycle Club, a puppet club of the HA.

On Jan. 14, 2014 a joint RCMP-Saskatoon police operation raided 19 locations in seven cities. $8m worth of methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl were seized. More than a dozen members of the Fallen Saints and Hells Angels were charged with a variety of offences. Everyone was busted except Harder.

Harder was a poor choice as a police agent and witness. "The biggest drug dealer involved was Noel Harder, and they let him go … he should have been the guy charged". Instead Harder was paid $500k. Harder blamed the RCMP for his many troubles. He met CBC News in a secret location for an exclusive interview about Project Forseti. "If somebody was coming to kill me," Harder said, "I’m going to be taking them with me, if not first."

Orcs strike civilians - malice and cruelty

Ukraine’s defense minister said an IRIS-T air defense system from Germany and four additional HIMARS launchers from the US arrived. The IRIS-T is the first of four that Germany is sending. NATO Chief Jens Stoltenberg said the “malice and cruelty” of Russia has resulted in 50 nations pledging support, including Canada. Russia fired 83 missiles at civilians, killing at least 70. 43 missles were shot down. There is no "practical military sense" in the strikes. Targets included Shevchenko Park, near a children's playground.
Germany announced today its sending it's air defense system to Ukraine. On Sept 25, Ukraine received the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) from the US. Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant on auxiliary power AGAIN

Russian missile attacks caused the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant to lose all external power for the second time in five days. Energoatom said diesel generators were supplying the plant but Russian troops blocked a convoy carrying additional fuel. The weaponization of civil nuclear plants makes for an unstable world.
Deputy head of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, Valeriy Martynyuk, has been kidnapped by Russian forces and is being detained in an unknown location, Ukraine's state nuclear energy company Energoatom said.
Energoatom called on IAEA chief Rafael Grossi to help free Martynyuk. Grossi met with Putin today.

Zaporizhzhia city remains under Ukrainian control.
External power to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant was restored. The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant lost its last external power source as a result of artillery and is relying on emergency diesel generators. The plant’s link to a 750-kilovolt line was cut at 1am Saturday. All six reactors at Europe’s biggest nuclear plant are shut down but still require electricity for cooling and safety functions. Each generator has fuel for 10 days. If the cooling system fails, it could lead to an uncontrolled heat build-up, a meltdown, and a fire that would release and spread “catastrophic” radiation across Europe. The facility has been under Russian control for months. Putin has designated the plant "federal property."

Ukraine Leleka-100 drone helps strike “fat” targets

Soldiers located the Russian artillery battery, helped artillery target it, and then watched as most of it was destroyed.
Two Ukrainian soldiers stared into their laptop screens, set up in the back of their SUV. They were looking at, some 25 miles away, a Russian artillery battery positioned in a tree line. There were at least five heavy guns, trucks that probably carried ammunition and fuel and a counterbattery radar. This is what the Ukrainian military calls a 'fat' target.
Ukraine soldiers had no combat experience before Russia’s invasion. The drone's operators were cameramen for Ukrainian television before the war. “Grilled meat,” one deadpanned as another explosion flashed across his screen.

Quebec waste company Ricova in cop crosshairs

Ricova is in hot water for having defrauded the City of Montreal of more than $1m.
An RCMP intelligence report in 2020 indicated that Ricova and its leader, Domenico Colubriale, "may be" involved in "shipping container drug trafficking and money laundering through exports of recycled paper." Ricova is a major player in the waste industry in Quebec. The company manages sorting centers in Montreal and the South Shore. It is also responsible for garbage collection in many cities in the south of the province, as well as 25% of Montreal. Many of Ricova's recyclables vendors work from Colombia.
In June the company was blacklisted by the City of Montreal for five years, which prevents it from obtaining new contracts. Ricova applied to the court to have this decision overturned. The SQ reports contacts between one of Ricova's leaders and the Rizzuto clan. This individual heads the Ricova Services subsidiary. This company obtained at least $150m in public contracts over the past five years.

Israeli mob boss Benny Shlomo killed - update II

4 members of the Jarushi crime family have been arrested for the hit in Azor that killed Benny Shlomo.

Shlomo was pursued and shot down like a dog.
Cops say “he lived within a fortress” at his home in southern Israel “surrounded by walls, he didn’t move without security guards.” “It’s clear that someone set a trap for him, that someone betrayed him and that he wasn’t warned.” Cops think Shlomo’s death was plotted by longtime rival Shalom Domrani.
Benny Shlomo, the head of a senior criminal organization, was shot and killed at a gas station. The suspects began fleeing on foot before carjacking a woman. An offduty cop opened fire at the suspects but they got away unharmed in the stolen vehicle. Shlomo was declared dead at hospital.
Shlomo ran his mob based in southern Israel from his family compound on Moshav Heletz.
Benny Shlomo's organization has been locked in a bloody rivalry with a mob led by Shalom Domrani for years. Shlomo survived several attempts on his life. His brother Shalom Shlomo was assassinated in 2015. Cops expect retaliation.
