Civil forfeiture rears head against HA West Point supporter - update

Cops seized more than 1,400 pounds of illicit cannabis and 330 grams of psilocybin.

Cops in Delta busted a grow op capable of producing $18m of pot per year. Cops lassoed cocaine, meth, fentanyl, crack cocaine, ecstasy and oxycodone.

Three Harley Davidsons sporting "Support your local Hells Angels" stickers were seized along with $193k in cash and $70k in rings. Two ATVs and seven vehicles were part of the seizure. Cops say some of the cars had hidden compartments. Guns included a Walther Waffenfabrik 9mm with loaded magazine; a Swiss Arms .22, a Heckler and Koch .40-calibre pistol; and an SKS-style assault rifle. A taser and body armour rounded out the seized items.

The B.C. Forfeiture Office claims that houses in Delta and Abbotsford, and commercial properties in Delta and Richmond, along with two vehicles, two Harley Davidson motorcycles, jewelry and cash exceeding $260k should be forfeited as proceeds of crime. One Harley had a “Support Your Local Hells Angels West Point” sticker.

5282 Williams Ave. in Delta, is owned by Norval McLennan. It’s valued at $1.5m.

Cimoszko was in the middle of a court battle over $12,270 cops seized in a 2017 traffic stop.

The total is $4.8m and is said to be linked to drug trafficking and money laundering. Named in the suit are Gill Thomas Rajpaul Bergen, Norval Hume McLennan, Aleksandr Leonidovitch Shtraimish and Cole Chalmers Svensen. In 2018 West Point HA Lukasz Cimoszko, 36, died of a drug overdose.

Gangster moll recruited kids for drug lines

Naliah Noreen, 23, and her two brothers ran five drug lines in the UK which made or fielded 54,000 calls over a four month period and had up to 1,200 customers. The mother of one forced a 15-year-old boy into becoming a 'runner' after telling him he owed the gang money. He was driven around so he could make door-to-door deliveries of heroin and cocaine. Noreen admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin plus money laundering.

Her brothers Asad Ali, 19 and Ratib Ali, 20, and their housemate Janaid Rehman, 18 were jailed at earlier hearings. Her boyfriend Mohammed Abu Khan, 28, is serving 90 months in jail.

Noreen is described as arrogant, with a caustic attitude. During an interview she told cops: "Better get me the fuck out of here or I'm going to kick off." Her lawyer said: "Her conduct was born out of personal circumstances and she was very much under direction of her boyfriend at the time. Cops seized 13 kilos of Class A drugs and more than £100k in cash. Noreen was sentenced to five years in jail.

‘Tony Meatballs’ among 15 mobsters nailed in Philadelphia

Wiseguy boss Anthony 'Tony Meatballs' Gifoli, 72, was named in a grand jury indictment along with others including underboss Steven 'Stevie' Mazzone and capo Domenic 'Mr. Hopkins' Grande. More than a dirty dozen South Philly mobsters are charged. They are accused of everything from illegal sports betting to heroin peddling to loan sharking. Mobsters targeted include Louis 'Louie Sheep' Barretta, Joseph 'Joey Electric' Servidio and Daniel 'Harry' Castelli.

The crime syndicate was working from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. The feds laid out the Mafia hierarchy in court documents, as well as offered definitions for key mob terms. Philadelphia and its surrounding area has been continuously under siege from the same Mafia family since 1931. The seven-count indictment against the men includes charges of racketeering conspiracy, extortion, illegal gambling and narcotics distribution.

'Joey Electric' boasted of many rackets, ranging from drug-dealing and bank fraud to armored-car heists.

Joseph Servidio wasn't shy when talking about who he was and where his money came from. “I’m a criminal,” the Philadelphia mob soldier told an associate in 2017. “Everything I do is criminal.” Later, he boasted: “There’s nothing better than making money. I make money every day, illegally.” Those thoughts where caught on FBI wiretaps and landed Servidio 15 years in the big house. Servidio pleaded guilty to charges of peddling pills laced with heroin and fentanyl in Atlantic City.

Servidio confessed based in part on how thoroughly the wire recordings torpedoded him.

Roberto González Montes arrested for Mormon slaughter

Roberto González Montes, the leader of La Línea, “El32” or “El Mudo,” meaning the mute, was arrested. The massacre came during a war between Montes’ La Línea and the Sinaloa Cartel. Nine who died were part of a convoy of 17 ambushed in Sonora. The dead and injured were all members of La Mora, a settlement in Sonora, an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Some of the children were burned alive.

La Mora contains 35 homes with 150 people. Roberto González Montes was arrested with other suspected cartel figures Eulalio Domínguez Alanís and Santiago Casavantes Radovich.

The Beef Baron strip club in London has been shuttered since September due to Covid. The peeler bar, owned by Vincent Barletta, the brother of Robert Barletta has been the scene of several high-profile crimes, including the 1998 fatal shooting of two Outlaws mc members.

An intentionally set blaze in August remains unsolved.

A man who answered the phone number listed on the 'Unique Junque Antiques' Facebook page hung up on a reporter.

Former president of the London Hells Angels Robert Barletta is facing more charges. In December 2019, OPP arrested and charged Richard Pereira, 36, of Oshawa with several offences, including breach of trust, following actions during his tenure with the Ministry of Transportation. On Friday, OPP announced that Barletta, 50, is also charged in relation to the breach investigation. In July cops arrested and charged Barletta after they seized $24m in assets as part of an illegal gambling ring. Barletta was also charged with money laundering and fraud (related to tax evasion) against the Government of Canada.

Dilpreet Singh, 'Baba', was busted by the Chandigarh Police for the murder of Gurlal Brar, 26. Brar was gunned down by three motorcycle-borne miscreants. The Davinder Bambiha group were behind the murder.Gurmeet Singh provided the motorcycle to the shooters for a promised 20 gm of heroin.

José Lara arrested for Mormon massacre

A cartel-linked gangster was arrested for his role in the murder of three Mormon mothers and their six children last year. José Lara, a member of a gang working with the Juárez Cartel, was busted Wednesday in connection to the massacre of the families on a remote road in Bavispe, Sonora, on Nov. 4, 2019. Lara is the 13th person arrested by Mexican authorities in connection to the massacre.

Lara's accomplice, Jesús Parra, was arrested in June.

Daniel 'Dirty Danny' Mongelli wins Covid-19 lottery

After being denied for release Daniel 'Dirty Danny' Mongelli won the lottery and caught Covid-19 in jail. He was sprung from a federal prison by the same judge this week.

Mongelli was an acting captain of the Bonannos when family associate Louis Tuzzio was whacked in an intra-family hit in 1990. He was part of the conspiracy to murder Tuzzio.

Mongelli lured Tuzzio to his death by leading him to believe he was going to a meeting where he might become made. “I was there when Louis Tuzzio was murdered and I knew he was going to be murdered,” said Mongelli when he pleaded guilty. Mongelli served as lookout for the Brooklyn hit. Acting Bonanno boss Anthony Spero ordered Tuzzio killed to appease John Gotti. He died in 2008. Mongelli, now 54, recently underwent radiation treatment for prostate cancer.

Vancito Gumbs faces 15 more years

Vancito Gumbs is a former Georgia police officer convicted in a massive gang racketeering case. After spending 4 years in prison, he was dealt another 15 years for his role in the Gangster Disciples. Its the end of a long fall for Gumbs, who moved to the US as a teenager from the U.S. Virgin Islands and went on to fight against Taliban forces in the Middle East. After deployment, he took a job at the DeKalb County Police Department. He met Kevin Clayton, a Gangster Disciples enforcer. On a series of wiretaps, the FBI heard Gumbs give broad information to Clayton about police activity. The jury found Gumbs guilty of racketeering involving murder. Prosecutors said Gumbs knew full well that the Gangster Disciples killed people.

The war damaged him, his mother said.

“When my son came back, he was not the son I dropped off.” Janelle Gumbs spoke of nightmares where Gumbs would be screaming.

Jermaine “Big Dog” Southall pulls 27 years

“This defendant was at the top of the pyramid,” said a South Carolina U.S. District Judge, as Jermaine “Big Dog” Southall, stood before him. The charge against him was drug trafficking conspiracy and the sentence was 27 years in a federal prison. Southall's three state cocaine and heroin distribution ring generated millions.

The judge said his sentence would have been life if not for a plea agreement.

Spanish cops seize 1.2 tonnes of cocaine on ship busted for second time in two weeks

Hidden among sacks containing 3,500 tonnes of corn, cops found 1,210kg of cocaine.

Spanish cops seized more than 1.2 tonnes of cocaine on a ship carrying corn from Brazil, two weeks after Brazilian cops confiscated 1.5 tonnes from the same vessel. The Unispirit was intercepted 50 nautical miles off the island of Gran Canaria.

The tip came from Brazilian cops who reported the ship left Brazil under mysterious circumstances before they had finished examining it's cargo. They landed 1,524kg.

Kelowna HA prospects Townsend, Bayley finally go to trial

Prospect Jason Dennis Townsend was charged with common assault and assault by choking after attacking a woman. Townsend is a former member of the Renegades MC in Prince George. He was sentenced in 2014 to two years in jail for a vicious attack on three people in Prince George which was caught on camera.

He was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm

Townsend has a long criminal history with convictions for assault, drug trafficking and firearms.Townsend's trial will begin on the same day as the trial for HA prospect Colin Bayley.

Bayley had just completed 12-months probation for a previous assault conviction before another brutal attack. He faces trial for aggravated assault.

Belgian cops seize 11.5 tons of cocaine in shipment from Guyana

Belgian prosecutors announced the largest-ever overseas drug bust “in the world.” Cops tracked the transatlantic journey of 11.5-tons (23,000 pounds) of cocaine from Guyana, and seized it upon its arrival at the Port of Antwerp. The catch is described as “the largest overseas drug bust ever, worldwide.” The street value of the load is over €900 million. The dismantlement of a drug gang with connections to cops in late September led to the arrest and indictment of 22 people, with three people still in the Netherlands awaiting extradition.

B.C. Civil forfeiture targets Meth labs

The director of civil forfeiture has filed a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court against Manila Bayshore Holdings Inc., David Gar Fong Lee, Kim World Huang and Yung En Yang. Cops responded to an apartment fire on March 4, 2020 at a drug lab in the 6900-block of Elmbridge Way. Cops found three clandestine labs in Richmond, including one at Huang and Yang’s home at 6340 Comstock Rd. Large amounts of drugs and cash were seized.

The properties as well as the cash is being sought as proceeds of crime.

3 dead, 1 clings to life after Vancouver Island shooting - update

An outreach worker who provides support for those living in homeless camps in the Qualicum Beach area says she was warned not to visit an encampment near Whiskey Creek where three people were later found dead. She visits 16 camps filled with people who have nowhere else to go. She said there are more than 380 people in the 'bush camps' in the Parksville-Qualicum area. Her warning to stay away came a week before the murders.

Cops are investigating after three people were found dead and another critically injured in a targeted killing at a Vancouver Island gravel pit Sunday. The grisly discovery was made around 2 p.m. in a remote area near Whiskey Creek, about 50 kilometres west of Nanaimo. A dirt bike rider came across a dead man on Melrose Forest Service Road and called for police and paramedics. First responders found a burned-out travel trailer with two dead adults inside. Another man, who had been shot, was found clinging to life in another trailer.
